President’s Message

Welcome

It is with great honor and heartfelt gratitude that I serve as President of The Society, Incorporated, Supporting the Arts Los Angeles Chapter. This year, we proudly celebrate 33 years of service to the youth of Los Angeles, three decades of cultivating creativity, inspiring excellence, and uplifting the next generation of artists.
The Society, Incorporated is a national nonprofit organization of women committed to enhancing, exposing, and promoting youth in the arts for the betterment of our communities.
Bound together by friendship and service, we are passionate about nurturing young people, particularly those from underserved communities, by providing meaningful
opportunities in the literary, visual, and performing arts.

Founded in May 1983 by four visionary women, The Society was established to create a network of professional women dedicated to friendship and service, while also serving as a vital resource for young people in the arts. Today, we have grown into a dynamic organization with chapters in 35 cities across the United States, offering scholarships, grants, stipends, and transformative artistic experiences.
We are proud to have honored an extraordinary group of artists and cultural leaders whose work has made a lasting impact, including:
 Lula Washington
 Jewell Diamond Taylor
 Lady Sybil J. Thomas Coker
 Arthur L. Ross
 Phoebe Beasley
 Rosemarie L. Cook-Glover
 Tina Allen
 Michelle Houston
 Sylvester Rivers
As arts programs continue to be reduced in public education, our commitment to bridging the gap has never been more critical. One of our signature initiatives, the Tri-Arts Program at Wilder’s Preparatory Academy, provides students with hands-on exposure to the performing arts. Through this program, our students have brought productions such as Ease on Down the Road to life, with Lion King Jr on the horizon—creating unforgettable experiences that build confidence, discipline, and joy.
Your continued support makes this work possible. Together, we are shaping futures, igniting creativity, and ensuring that every child has access to the transformative power of the arts.
Thank you for your partnership and your belief in our mission.
With gratitude and in service,

Cheryl Lynn Mason
